My best friend just said this to me:

"in a relationship, it's not about who has to do what.... it's about to how much you want to do it"

At this point...how much DO I want it anymore? I'm really not so sure.

VDay Snowday!

shmammered
Whoo-ee! It's snowing something fierce out there today!

It's as if all the bitterness and ill-will of the countless millions of Vday haters has gone up into the clouds and is coming down in a blanket of snowy rage :p Who knew rage could look so pretty?

Well no amount of snow and bad weather can dampen my spirits! Today combines my two greatest loves, Joel and "Lost" and I intend on enjoying them both. I'm gonna (try to) make a nice dinner of something or other and I grabbed a bottle of wine too. We're just gonna cuddle up and spend a relaxing evening alone and I can't wait!

And I am sooo looking forward to dinner tomorrow! We have reservations at a way swanky restaurant. I've already been online to peruse the menu and lemme tell you, I am dreeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaming of creme brulée at this point. So good so good so good!

Eeeee! I love my man =D

*fully preparing to be drenched by a bucket of haterade, but that's ok

Feb 12/07. Our First Fart!

shmammered
Joel and I reached a very important milestone in our relationship today. This one has been a looooong time coming too! Usually it gets itself out of the way early on in the relationship but this time it waited a while. OHHH but it happened!!!
Joel farted in front of me today. HOW EXCITING!!! lol I hugged him and a little *poot* came out. Eeeeeeeeee!
Now, how screwed up am I?! lol I think it's funny how something like this is so important to a relationship. It shows an important level of comfort and familiarity in the relationship. I'm psyched! I've been waiting for this forever. Hell, I've discussed this with friends and well all agree: farting in front of your loved one is BIG (well, the first fart. From there it's all downhill)
So yes, mark this day: Feb 12/07. Our First Fart

Books This Year pt. 7

shmammered
9. "lost boy, lost girl" by Peter Straub:  I can't help but think that I should like this book more than I do. I just set it down and I keep thinking "well that was a letdown..." Boo-urns. It's about...ooh boy, ok, it's about a man investigating the suicide of his sis-in-law and the disappearance of his nephew and the cause of both seem to revolve around a mysterious, abandoned house in the neighbourhood. Into that there is a pedophile kidnapping and killing boys who may or may not be involved with the house as well.  If you remember my review of "Creepers" you will recall that that book seemed to be building up to many scary things but never really bringing those details to fruition. And I thoroughly loved that book!  Oddly enough this book is sort of a reverse of that. This one has some actual supernatural elements like ghosts and a haunted house, but those elements never truly add up to be frightening. A little bit spooky, perhaps, but it never quite goes all the way in being scary. I'd think "well, that's weird", never "ooh, freaky!". By the end of the book I kept thinking "surely there must be something more" and of course, there wasn't. it's weird... so many elements were sooo well done but in the end it felt weak, wasted. Something so much better could have come out of that book. Ho-hum
